Wuxi IPRs Cluster settles in Liyuan Economic Development Zone, Binhu District, Wuxi. As the carrier of the cluster, Jinyuan Plaza, located at the junction of Jianzhu Road and Hongqiao Road in Wuxi, is an independent and quality venue for concentrated operation. With an area of about 40,000 sq m, 20,000 sq m of which is used in Phase I, it offers plenty of room for the conversion of IPR fruits in the future.

The cluster is physically divided into three functional areas. F1 is for the exhibition of IPRs fruits, and consists of a public service hall, a reception area, an exhibition hall and windows for one-stop IPRs services related to trademarks, appearance patents and finance. Through introduction to Wuxi’s economy, history and culture and the development of IPRs, the exhibition hall showcases the contents of IPRs in Wuxi including patents, trademarks and geographical indications, and demonstrates Wuxi’s profound IPRs foundation and culture. F2-F5 are for basic IPRs services, with F2 for the financial public service platform and IPRs big data public service platform, F3 for the business center and cluster operators that guarantee services for enterprises, and F4-F5 respectively for industrial design and biopharmaceutical IPRs operation. F6-F10 are for IPRs related business services, and will introduce agencies, evaluation firms, financial institutions, certification institutions, law firms, consulting firms, assistance (protection) centers and some other high-end IPRs service institutions, so as to establish a citywide IPRs operation networks. To further develop the cluster, Liyuan Economic Development Zone introduced platforms of all kinds, including two public service platforms, i.e. Wuxi IPRs Financial Public Service Platform and Wuxi IPRs Big Data Public Service Platform, two IPRs operation platforms, i.e. Wuxi Industrial Design IPRs Operation Platform and Wuxi Biopharmaceutical Industrial IPRs Operation Service Platform, and two high-end service institutions, i.e. BCC and IPSunshine. As a representative of high-end service institutions, 58caibiao.com, the province’s first one-stop IPRs service platform incubated in Liyuan Development Zone, settled in the cluster, and initiated the public welfare campaign themed “invigorating the city with brands” on  24, offering free IPRs protection solutions for Wuxi’s “geographical trademarks” and cultural brands, so as to support the healthy development of China with IPRs, contribute to the fight against COVID-19 and promote innovation-oriented development.  

Next, vigorous preparations will be made for the construction of the cluster, in a bid to build the cluster into a window for display and exchanges with the outside world, an exemplary model of operation services, a center for the transfer and trading of technological fruits, a pilot project of financial innovation, a base of public services, and a shining name card for Wuxi to become a benchmark area for IPRs operation in the world, and to inject strong impetus to the quality development of local economy.
