Shanghai Digital Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as: SHDM) was established in 2004. It is a high-tech enterprise that provides integrated solutions for 3D digital manufacturing and additive manufacturing, focusing on R&D, production and industrial application of industrial-grade 3D printers, 3D scanners. The company is headquartered in Pudong New District, Shanghai, and has subsidiaries or offices in South China (Shenzhen), Southwest (Chongqing), Central South (Xiangtan), and North China (Shijiazhuang).

The founder of the company, Dr. Zhao Yi, developed the first stereolithography 3D printer in China, which won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award. After the establishment of SHDM in 2004, Dr. Zhao successfully developed and industrialized white light 3D scanner and laser body scanner, which won the Shanghai Science and Technology Award. The company has also continued to develop selective laser melting 3D printers, ceramic 3D printers and other additive manufacturing equipment.
