Two groups, i.e. “creativity group” and “product group”, are arranged in the competition for the collection and review of works, with the main categories covering:
Intelligent technologies (wearable devices, electronic communication, AI, virtual reality, interaction & interface, mobile communication, etc.);
Equipment manufacturing (mechanic equipment, transport, new-type technological equipment, etc.) ;
Home supplies (home appliances, furniture, lamps, kitchen supplies, intelligent home systems, healthcare products, sports & leisure products, etc.);
Others (public facilities, education & entertainment, cultural and creative design, apparel design, trademarks, etc.)
Creativity group: The works to be collected and reviewed are innovative ones not mass-produced yet; they can be future-oriented conceptual design or alternatives to traditional products that may be realized.
Product group: The works to be collected and reviewed are the works with the design completed or that have been mass-produced; participating works are required to be innovative, pragmatic, beautiful, economical and safe.
Enterprises, institutions, universities and research institutes, design studios, individuals and groups from around the world can all participate in the competition and shall satisfy the following conditions:
1.Participants shall have independent IPRs to the works submitted for the competition;
2.No other organizations or individuals filed any application to the China National Intellectual Property Administration about the same creative concepts or products before the date when the works are submitted;
3.The same creative concept or product can only be submitted to one competition group;
4.Works submitted to the creativity group must be works of original conceptual design with independent IPRs related to appearance design and other aspects; works that are the same as or similar to released works, works awarded the second prize or above in global or national design competitions or works designed for the third party must be presented with agreements of authorization from Party A before participation. Any legal responsibility arising from a participant’s plagiarizing other people’s works or stealing business secrets shall be taken by the participant himself/herself, and the Organizing Committee of the competition has the right to cancel his/her qualification for participating in and winning awards at any stage of the competition;
5.Works submitted to the product group must be works that have been industrialized or are to be industrialized by the enterprises or design institutes in the previous year, involve no IPRs disputes and have never been awarded prizes in the event. They shall be tangible and high-value industrial products or consumer goods that have innovative design points in appearance, structure, material, function, color or their combinations and be pragmatic.
